What this place is

Relay Artists is a collaborative painting site run by CAN Web Management LLC. A small crew of members paints one shared wall: each person paints their own piece on their own layer, the layers stack into a finished mural, and finished murals hang in the public gallery.

Who can paint here

You must be 13 or older to have an account. We do not knowingly collect accounts or personal information from children under 13, and we delete any we find, in line with the United States COPPA rule. If you are between 13 and 17, make sure a parent or guardian is fine with you painting here.

Your work and everyone's wall

Every stroke on a wall is made by a person, by hand, in the browser. Uploading images and using generation tools to produce a layer are both against the rules, and layers that break this rule come down.

You keep authorship of your layer. By submitting it to a wall you license the finished mural, including your layer, to the world under the Creative Commons Attribution NonCommercial 4.0 license (CC BY NC 4.0), with attribution to the crew's display names. This is what lets a finished wall hang publicly, be shared, and be replayed. It applies when a mural finishes and remains in force afterward.

House conduct

All ages share these rooms, and classrooms visit. Paint accordingly. These come down on sight: sexual content, gore, hate symbols, slurs, personal information (yours or anyone's), advertising, and painting over the assignment to vandalize a wall.

Moderation runs in this order: an ink check, an automated screening pass, the next painter's flag, and a human review of anything flagged. Strikes: the first removed layer brings a warning, the second a seven-day pause on claiming pieces, the third a ban. Severe cases (sexual content involving minors, credible threats, hate symbols) skip the ladder: immediate ban, content removed, reported where the law requires it. You may appeal any strike once by replying to the notice email; we answer within 14 days.

Holds and deadlines

Claiming a piece holds it for 48 hours, with a reminder at 24. When the hold lapses the piece returns to the pool so the wall keeps moving. Lapsed holds are normal; life happens, and the bench picks up the brush.

Private walls

A private wall is visible to its crew and to anyone holding its invite or share link. Private walls stay out of the gallery unless the crew submits and approves hanging at title time. House conduct applies on private walls too.

Copyright complaints

If work on a wall infringes your copyright, email [email protected] with the mural link, the layer or piece in question, proof of your claim, and your contact information. We act within 72 hours.

The service itself

Relay Artists is provided as is, without warranty. We may change, suspend, or end the service, and we may update these terms; material changes are announced on the site. We can remove content or close accounts that break these rules. You can close your account any time from settings; finished murals stay hung, since they belong to their whole crew, under the license above.
